Crochet Round Coasters
Round crochet coasters are great option to protect your coffee table or table tops from unwanted stains and condensation. These pretty coasters will also enhance your home decor. This Round Crochet Coasters Pattern is a quick project so you can easily make a full set of coasters in a short period of time. Plus, a coaster set would make a great gift!

This Round Crochet Coasters Pattern creates a circular coaster with lots of texture, a unique round shape and a modern look. It’s a simple coaster pattern and perfect for trying out a new stitch.
This easy pattern uses only basic stitches (single crochet stitches, chain stitches and double crochet stitches). The entire coaster is made with a V-stitch. In this pattern, a V-stitch is a single crochet stitch, followed by one chain stitch and a double crochet stitch, all in the same stitch or space. This simple stitch is quite visually appealing and a great way to expand your crochet skills.

For the yarn weight, you can use any size 4 (medium) yarn (which is also known as worsted weight yarn) to make this easy crochet coaster pattern. And as for type of yarn, there isn’t an exact best yarn type to use for this pattern so you can make these easy coasters with cotton yarn, acrylic yarn or experiment with types of yarn.
You can make a coaster set in different colors and make a bunch of colorful coasters or use one solid color. Since these crocheted coasters are made with only 20 yards of yarn (for each coaster), this is great project to use up your scrap yarn (also known as “stash-busting” where you use up all your leftover yarn).

If your coaster is smaller, or if you would like to make the coaster bigger, there is an optional Round 6 on the next page.
If you are happy with the size, fasten off and weave in all loose ends.

These coasters were designed to fit into my Crochet Coaster Holder Pattern, which is 5โ across the bottom. If you want to make these coasters bigger, they may not fit properly in that coaster holder. However, there are instructions in the Crochet Coaster Holder Pattern on how to increase the size of the coaster holder bottom.
Round 6 (Optional): Ch 1. Do not turn. In each ch-1 sp, make 1 V-st. (24 V-sts made). Sl st into the top of the first sc (from the first V-st) to join.
Fasten off and weave in loose ends.

And now you have a new round coaster! Repeat these instructions to make a set of coasters. I’d love to see your finished coasters!
